Derek Wilson, PT, DPT, Cert. DN
Physical therapist
Derek is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and movement and strength specialist with a passion for helping people move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities they love. With a background in strength and conditioning—including powerlifting, Olympic lifting, and sports such as golf, motocross, and CrossFit—Derek brings a performance-based lens to rehab. His approach blends clinical reasoning with real-world athletic experience to create personalized, goal-driven plans that promote long-term resilience and functional independence. He values collaboration, clear communication, and practical solutions that meet patients where they are and push them toward meaningful progress. As a fitness-forward physical therapist, Derek believes that movement is medicine and strength is the foundation for lasting recovery. He views rehab as an extension of quality training, and that exercises in physical therapy and the gym shouldn’t be entirely different—only adjusted to meet someone’s current capacity, whether they’re pre- or post-injury. Derek is passionate about challenging his patients in ways that are safe, effective, and often surprising—helping them discover they’re capable of far more than they expected. Whether guiding post-operative patients, working professionals, or competitive athletes, he emphasizes progressive loading, quality movement, and patient education to build confidence and capacity. His mission is to bridge the gap between rehab and performance, empowering each individual to not just recover—but to thrive in whatever environment or lifestyle they care most about.
My goal is to help people move with confidence, build strength, and maintain independence across their lifespan—while prioritizing healthspan. I believe the focus shouldn’t just be on living longer, but on living well for longer, with the strength, mobility, and resilience to continue doing what matters most. Whether someone is recovering from injury, managing a condition, or striving to stay active, I want them to leave care equipped with the tools to remain capable and engaged for decades.
