Cara Steele, FST
Fascial Stretch Therapist
Cara likes to go by “Steele” and was born and raised in Paramus, NJ. Steele received BFA in Interior Design from the Fashion Inst. of Technology (SUNY) in NYC and worked in the field for a number of years until discovering a passion for fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Steele then made the transition to Certified Personal Trainer in 2017 and worked for Equinox, earning advanced certifications in Corrective Exercise, Functional Movement Systems, and as a Certified Strength Coach. She began her FST journey when she came out to Chandler in 2019 for her L1 certification. Within 14 months she had completed her L2, L3, Sports Specific certifications, as well as becoming a LifestretchTM instructor, a group class for self-stretch. Steele then continued her journey as a stretch therapist for Lifetime (NJ & AZ) as well as the Villages at DC Ranch. Steele got into FST because it was the only thing (other than medication) that has helped with her own chronic pain and injuries. She decided to make the move to Arizona when she was selected to become part of the teaching team at Stretch to Win, teaching with the creators of FST, Ann & Chris Frederick. Steele believes in a holistic approach to wellness, and will be continuing her education as a stretch therapist when she completes her Level 4 certification in early 2026, making her one of only a handful of stretch therapists certified at this level, with thousands of hours of hands-on experience. Her hobbies include pilates, hiking and exploring AZ with her Rottweiler, Banksy, and refereeing play between Banksy and her cat, Mango Tango.
“I understand pain and I have committed to learning as much as I can about the human body and its systems, and how it moves (or doesn’t!). Many clients have come to me as a “last resort”. FST is for everyone, and I promise it won’t hurt, you should only feel a stretch sensation, NEVER pain.”
