Doug Carter, CPT, Cert.-FST

Personal Trainer/L2 Stretch to Win Fascial Stretch Therapist

Doug is originally from Wisconsin where he was a multi-sport athlete. Strength and conditioning has always been a part of his life even as his focus turned to football when he arrived at UW-Stout. After finishing his degree he moved to Arizona in 2003 where he remained active, when he was introduced to Crossfit in 2009.  By 2011 Doug was certified through Crossfit and USAW as a Sports Performance Coach and Trainer.  In 2014, wanting to have a more direct impact on peoples lives, Doug left his corporate office job  to work as a trainer/coach full time.  During this time, when Doug wasn’t working with individuals or group classes, he was the Head Strength and Conditioning coach for the ASU Rugby team (2014-2016).  Helping people and being a part of seeing them reaching their goals has been a much more satisfying career.  Doug is also a Certified Facial Stretch Therapist L2, (also referred to as FST or Stretch to Win) so when he’s not helping people lose weight or get stronger, he’s usually working with someone to improve their mobility.

Doug has worked with a wide range of clients aging from 14-65 with various goals and needs as well as varying degrees of ability.  No individual client is the same.  Whether its sports performance, general health & fitness, mobility, weight loss, Doug has the experience and will work with you to help you reach your goals.  This doesn’t just apply to your individual session with Doug.  Doug will learn about you and the roadblocks you face.  He’ll than give you information, stretches, nutrition recommendations, etc you can try at home in your own free time to improve your success.  It’s not that people don’t have the time, everyone has the time, they just aren’t maximizing the time they have available to them.

Doug still is a competitive Olympic Weightlifter and continues to learn and develop as a coach/athlete/therapist – including courses at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs learning program design– while helping others become stronger, healthier and reach their own personal fitness goals. Doug also has coaching certifications through USATF and USAPL as well as multiple Crossfit certifications.
